About Us
The South Devon Islamic Organisation (SDIO) was established in 2015 in the United Kingdom, CHARITY REGISTRATION NUMBER : 1164603. Founded by members of the South Devon community, the SDIO aims to play a pivotal role in helping the community integrate within wider society by helping build its capacity and encouraging its members to play a more effective role within society.
The SDIO aims to offer high quality education and training and provided essential services that cater to the needs of different sections of the community.
Popularly known as the SDIO, The SDIO is based in the meantime at the Courtenay Centre, Newton abbot offers spacious and good facilities. The Centre hosts a range of our activities including Friday sermon and the community monthly meeting.
The SDIO aiming to establish a community centre that will host a wide range of activities including a Children’s Centre, a Day Nursery, Supplementary Arabic and Holy Quran reading classes, Adult Education and Vocational Training Centre, youth activities, care for the elderly and an excellent venue for conferences and weddings. In addition, the SDIO aims to establish a Masjid (mosque).
